The Collier Community Foundation in partnership with the Communities of Everglades Disaster Recovery (CEDR) and Volunteer Florida has established the Elevating Homes Program (EHP). The goal of the EHP is to assist eligible families in the areas of Everglades City, Plantation Island, and Chokoloskee to mitigate the risk of repetitive loss due to storm surge and flooding by elevating their homes. To date the EHP has elevated two homes and replaced three trailers with elevated manufactured homes and are in the process of elevating an additional two homes.
The EHP program is beginning Phase 2 of the program. The Phase 2 program is available to all eligible survivors.
Phase 2 will provide elevated modular homes to replace homes damaged in Hurricane Ian.
In the downloads section below is the EHP Phase 2 program guide, the EHP Phase 2 pre-application and the EHP Phase 2 application. Preapplications are currently being accepted until July 29th, 2025.
